Our position on copyright
[ugd_site_name] respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects everyone who uses this site to do the same. We respond to clear and complete notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and comparable laws in other jurisdictions.
Important: we do not host media
This site is a tool, not a library. It does not host, store, index, or archive any media files. When a visitor supplies a link, our server retrieves the file that is already publicly available at that address and passes it to that visitor. Temporary working files are deleted automatically and no public gallery of downloaded content exists.
For that reason, the most effective remedy is almost always to contact the website that actually hosts the file. Removing the file at its source removes it everywhere, including from any tool that could otherwise reach it.
Filing a notice of alleged infringement
If you believe in good faith that this website itself is facilitating the infringement of a work you own or are authorised to represent, please send a written notice to [ugd_admin_email] that includes all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if several works are involved.
- The specific URL, or a description precise enough for us to locate the material in question.
- Your full contact information, including name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices slow everything down, because we have to write back for the missing details before we can act.
How we handle valid notices
We review every properly submitted notice and aim to acknowledge receipt within a few business days. Where a notice is valid and relates to something within our control, we take appropriate action, which may include blocking a specific address from being processed by the tool.
Counter-notification
If you believe material was restricted as a result of a mistake or a misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. It should include your contact information, identification of the material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, your signature, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of an appropriate court.
Repeat infringers
In appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, we may restrict or block access for users who are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices.
Misrepresentation
Please be aware that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. If you are unsure whether the material is protected or whether your use is permitted, please seek legal advice before sending a notice.
