Identify your iPhone

Type the name printed on the box, the year you bought it, or the model number that starts with A. Any of the three is enough.

Not sure which iPhone you have?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap About.
  4. Read Model Name for the marketing name, such as iPhone 15 Pro.
  5. Tap the Model Number row to switch between the part number and the code beginning with A.

One iPhone can carry several numbers beginning with A because Apple sells different radio variants by region. They are the same consumer model, so any of them identifies your phone here.

Not sure which iOS version you have?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap About.
  4. Read Software Version. Only the first number matters for finding a setting.

Where to find the serial number and IMEI

Both are on the same About screen. Touch and hold a row to copy it. If the iPhone will not start, the numbers are also printed on the original box and on the SIM tray of some models.
