Most people call this using the camera as a magnifying glass.
Magnifier turns the camera into a magnifying glass with zoom, brightness, contrast and colour filters, plus detection modes on capable models.
This setting is present on your iPhone.

What it does
It is a separate app. Beyond magnification it can freeze a frame, apply filters for readability, and on models with the right hardware detect doors, people and text.
