Accessibility
Our aim
Pinch of Decoration should be usable by as many people as possible, including people using a keyboard only, a screen reader, or a large text size.
What we have done
- The site is built to the WCAG 2.2 AA colour contrast requirements.
- Everything can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and the focus outline is always visible.
- The interface is designed separately for phone, tablet and desktop rather than being shrunk down.
- Worksheets can be generated in an ink-saver mode that removes tinted backgrounds, which also raises contrast on the printed page.
- Answer keys never rely on colour alone to distinguish the answer.
Printed worksheets
Several settings exist for accessibility on paper: larger type, wider line spacing, extra writing lines, and styles designed for early writers. If a particular need is not met by the settings we offer, tell us – it is useful to know.
Where we fall short
The worksheet preview is drawn as a graphic. It carries a text description, but it is not a substitute for the printed sheet for a screen reader user. We are working on this.
Tell us
If you hit a barrier on this site, please contact us and describe what happened. We treat accessibility problems as bugs.
