What it does
It covers Messages, AirDrop, FaceTime messages, Contact Posters and some third party apps. Nothing is sent to Apple and nothing is reported to anyone. You decide whether to view.
What changes
When it is on
Matching media is blurred with a warning until you choose to view it.
When it is off
Everything displays immediately.
Should you turn it on?
Good reasons to turn it on
- Unsolicited images are blocked before you see them.
- Detection is entirely on device and nothing is reported.
- Sensible on any phone used in public.
Good reasons to turn it off
- Occasional false positives blur ordinary photos.
- You do not want the extra confirmation step.
