What custom practice is good for
- Rehearsing the exact vocabulary of your job: product names, addresses, medical or legal terms.
- Drilling a single awkward sentence until the movement stops feeling deliberate.
- Practising in another language, provided your keyboard can produce the characters.
- Retyping your own writing, which is a surprisingly effective proofreading technique.
Note: curly quotes, em dashes and other characters most keyboards cannot produce are converted to their plain equivalents automatically, so you are never asked for a key you do not have.
