Foldable display behaviour
Most people call this how the phone behaves folded and unfolded.
The iPhone Duo has an outer display for quick use while folded and a larger inner display when opened, and settings control what carries across when you unfold.
This setting is present on your iPhone.

What it does
Apps can continue on the inner display when you unfold, or the phone can return to the Home Screen. Each display has its own brightness behaviour and its own Home Screen layout.
What changes
When it is on
Apps continue onto the larger display when you unfold.
When it is off
Unfolding returns you to the Home Screen.
Should you turn it on?
Good reasons to turn it on
- Reading continues on the larger display without interruption.
- Fewer taps to get back to what you were doing.
Good reasons to turn it off
- You may prefer the larger display to start fresh.
- Some apps handle the transition badly.

- By default yes, and there is a setting to change that behaviour.
If it is not working
- Each display keeps its own Home Screen arrangement.
- An app that has not been updated for the larger display may letterbox.
- Always-On behaviour applies to the outer display when folded.
