Most people call this batching unimportant notifications into a daily digest.
Notifications from apps you choose are held back and delivered together at times you set, instead of interrupting you all day.
This setting is present on your iPhone.

What it does
You pick the apps and the delivery times. Time Sensitive notifications and direct messages bypass the summary, so genuinely urgent things still arrive immediately.
What changes
When it is on
Chosen apps are collected and delivered at your scheduled times.
When it is off
Every notification arrives as it happens.
Should you turn it on?
Good reasons to turn it on
- Cuts interruptions without losing the content.
- You choose exactly which apps are batched.
- Urgent messages still come straight through.

- You may see something later than you wanted.
- Managing the app list takes some initial effort.

Questions people actually ask
- Will I miss an important message?
- No. Messages and Time Sensitive notifications are excluded from the summary by design.
If it is not working
- If a summary is empty, the apps you chose sent nothing, or their notifications were marked Time Sensitive.
- Direct messages are never held back.
- Two or three delivery times a day works better than one.
