Notifications and Focus

Decide what interrupts you, when, and how much it reveals on a locked screen.

Allow Notifications

Available

Each app has its own notification switch, plus separate control over the Lock Screen, banners, notification centre, sounds and badges.

Settings > Notifications > App name > Allow Notifications

Show Previews

Available

Show Previews decides whether the content of a notification appears on a locked screen, only after you unlock, or never.

Settings > Notifications > Show Previews

Focus

Available

A Focus is a named set of rules deciding who and what can reach you, and it can change your Home Screen and Lock Screen at the same time.

Settings > Focus

Sleep Focus

Available

Sleep Focus silences notifications during your sleep schedule and simplifies the Lock Screen so a glance at night shows only the time.

Settings > Focus > Sleep

Badges

Available

Badges are the red counters on app icons, and they can be turned off per app without losing notifications.

Settings > Notifications > App name > Badges

Driving Focus

Available

Driving Focus silences notifications while you are in a moving vehicle and can auto reply to anyone who messages you.

Settings > Focus > Driving

Scheduled Summary

Available

Notifications from apps you choose are held back and delivered together at times you set, instead of interrupting you all day.

Settings > Notifications > Scheduled Summary

Time Sensitive Notifications

Available

An app can mark a notification as urgent, which lets it break through a Focus and skip the Scheduled Summary.

Settings > Notifications > App name > Time Sensitive Notifications

Lock Screen notification layout

Available

Notifications on the Lock Screen can be shown as a full list, grouped into a stack, or reduced to a single count.

Settings > Notifications > Display As

Share Focus Status

Available

When someone messages you, they can be shown that you have notifications silenced, with the option to notify you anyway.

Settings > Focus > Focus name > Focus Status

Focus Filters

Available

A Focus Filter changes what an app displays, such as showing only your work calendar or only one mail account while Work Focus is active.

Settings > Focus > Focus name > Focus Filters

Critical Alerts

Available

A small number of apps can be allowed to make sound even when the phone is silenced or in a Focus.

Settings > Notifications > App name > Critical Alerts
