Auto-Correction replaces what it thinks are mistakes as you type, and a newer behaviour underlines corrections so you can tap to undo them.

Dictation turns speech into text anywhere a keyboard appears, and on recent iPhones it runs on the device for most languages.

Predictive Text offers word suggestions above the keyboard, and Inline Predictions suggests the rest of a sentence in grey as you type.

You can add keyboards for other languages, emoji and third party apps, and switch between them with the globe key.

You can define a short code that expands into a longer phrase, and you can use the same feature to stop autocorrect mangling a particular word.

The keyboard can be shifted to the left or right so every key is within one thumb's reach.
