Daily Practice

A balanced fifteen-minute routine: warm up, push your speed, tighten your accuracy, attack a weak area, then finish with a proper lesson.

Today's session, July 22, 2026. The five items below are chosen from the built-in lesson library by a fixed daily rule and refresh at midnight.

  1. Warm-up

T and Y: The Inside Stretch

Stretch the index fingers inward to T and Y and return cleanly.

    • Beginner
    • 1m 40s
    • Target 14 WPM / 90%
    Start
  2. Speed test

    Awkward Letter Combinations

Smooth out the letter pairs that force one finger to work twice.

    • Advanced
    • 3m 10s
    • Target 42 WPM / 96%
    Start
  3. Accuracy task

    Accuracy: Slow and Deliberate

Finish a short passage with no errors at all.

    • Beginner
    • 1m 30s
    • Target 15 WPM / 99%
    Start
  4. Weak-key task

    Hyphens, Dashes and Slashes

Distinguish the hyphen from the slash in typing terms.

    • Intermediate
    • 2m 30s
    • Target 28 WPM / 96%
    Start
  5. Recommended lesson

    Dialogue and Speech

Combine quotation marks, commas and capitals in flowing dialogue.

    • Intermediate
    • 2m 50s
    • Target 35 WPM / 93%
    Start

Working through all five takes roughly fifteen minutes. Doing that on most days will move your speed further than one long session at the weekend.

Why a fixed routine helps

Left to ourselves, most of us repeat what we are already good at. A fixed routine forces the uncomfortable parts - numbers, punctuation, sustained paragraphs - into every session, which is where the improvement actually comes from.

If you want a routine tailored to your own speed and target, use the practice plan generator instead.
