Face ID uses the TrueDepth camera to build a mathematical model of your face, stored only on the device, and uses it to unlock and authorise.

Find My lets you locate your iPhone on a map, play a sound on it, mark it as lost, or erase it remotely, and it also enables Activation Lock.

Your passcode is the root of iPhone security: it encrypts your data, and Face ID or Touch ID are conveniences layered on top of it.

iCloud Backup

Available Apple Account and iCloud

iCloud Backup copies your device settings, app data, messages and photos to iCloud automatically when the phone is locked, charging and on Wi-Fi.

iCloud Photos keeps one library in sync across every device signed into your Apple Account, which means a change on one device happens everywhere.

Power off and force restart

Apple Pay and Wallet

Wallet holds your cards and Apple Pay authorises payments with Face ID or Touch ID, sending a device specific number rather than your real card number.

CarPlay shows a simplified version of your iPhone on the car's display, and the Settings screen controls which apps appear and how they are arranged.

Family Sharing

Family Sharing lets up to six people share an iCloud storage plan, subscriptions and purchases, and gives a parent the controls needed for a child account.

iMessage settings

iMessage settings control which addresses receive messages, which one new conversations start from, and whether the service is on at all.

Default Browser App

You can set a browser other than Safari as the app that opens links from Messages, Mail and everywhere else.

Touch ID in the side button

On the iPhone Duo the fingerprint sensor is built into the side button rather than a Home button, so you rest your finger on the button you already press.

This sets whether the clock updates automatically from the network, which time zone you are in, and whether time is shown in 24 hour format.
